If you haven't read the story I'll give you a brief introduction. A 27 year old American came into Canada, boarder patrol asked to look into his laptop and found what they thought was child porn. It wasn't but what are a bunch of people in charge of the boarder going to know about something like that, it's not like one person's life is important, or what happens to someone in prison who is suspected of such an act.
Lucky for him there is the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CLBDF), a not for profit group that takes on cases for free, that involve comic books and manga.

The moral of the story; people are different, and different people do different things, read different books, and a whole lot of other different stuff. Not everyone can be expected to know what everything they see is, they can only take what they've seen and learned in their life and apply it to something unknown. That being said, make sure when you're traveling to not take anything with you some lame normal person might not know what it is. Even if said trip will be boring and you need all that pirated material to get you through the days. Don't do it.
