Justice League Doom clip, filled with DOOOOOOOM!
I'm really excited for this movie, for many many reasons and here they are :P
Most of the voices are done by the original cast of the Justice League show, Green Lantern, who is Hal Jordan instead of Jon Stewart (RACISM!!), is played by Nathan Fillion (The cure for racism), the animation is fantastic, it's a story about how Batman figured out ways to beat every member of the Justice League. And finally the best reason is it may just be DC's way to segway back into a Justice League cartoon show.

Comic Reviews 02/08/12
Since this is my first review I'll add a primer to it. Typically I trade wait my books, unless they're something I can't wait to read like Fantastic Four. I don't wait to read something like Powers because I wait to buy the definitive hardcovers which take 2 years to come out, if not more. By trade wait I mean that I wait until the arc has been collected in a hardcover/trade paperback format, and that means I'll check out the comics art but not the story.
Batwoman #6
I typically trade wait a lot of books, Batwoman being one of them, but I wanted to check out the new artist for this arc. I can't expect her to be at the level of JH Williams, mostly because very, very few are.
She does a great job at capturing action and her panels are really well paced but her overall art isn't great. Her proportions aren't off which is the biggest detraction for me in any comic but it's hard to not be disappointed when the series has been drawn to look like a storybook for adults.
Verdict: Buy if you can't wait.
Green Lantern #6
Another book I trade wait for. This one has a guest artist who I just can't get on board with. His style just doesn't match the tone of a GL story.
Verdict: Pass
Powers vol 3 #8
Powers is great, this issue is great. It's the only comic doing this at the moment and it does it well. The art is spot on, the story is dark and everyone is mean to each other like it always is in Powers and it's building up to be maybe one of the biggest arcs Powers has ever had. To me a good comic, no matter what is going on in it, plants seeds for the future. I'm really excited for those seeds :D
Verdict: Buy
Fantastic Four: Season One
This book isn't looking to do anything new, it was made to give new talent a chance as well as giving new readers a visually updated FF origin story. The art is good, not great but good. It's very Frank Quitely which I am all for and he captures the action and panels the story very well. The story is a little more weak and the narration is very old school (hate that phrase but it works here). I think the writer was trying to introduce too many elements for the audience so that new readers would be less loss when picking up Hickman's AMAZING FF run going on.
Verdict: Buy: If you don't have an FF origin story on your shelves pick it up online and save 30%. Pass: If you have the kirby/lee omnibus don't bother. Buy: If you're new into comics and really like FF then get it. Pass: If you're new into comics and are unsure about FF then don't bother with it, you can actually start reading Hickman's run without any previous FF knowledge, I would suggest starting with Mark Millar's short FF (not ultimate FF) run as it segways well into Hickman's run.

Comics 02/07/12
Tomorrow is Wednesday. New comic book day. Here are the ones I'm going to pick up that are must haves.
Powers Vol 3 #8 (Long awaited!)
Batwoman #6 (With new artist Amy Reeder)

Fantastic Four: Season One (HC)

Powers has been shipping really irregularly lately and I don't know why. I know Oeming (art) has been doing a lot of other projects like the Mice Templar and Valve's comics but maybe it's because Bendis (writer) has been working on the Powers pilot which I read was canned about a month ago.
Batwoman is an amazing book and if you have a female friend who wants to get into comics then get her Batwoman: Elegy, which is the first collection of the series. Preview
Green Lantern has become a staple in my collection, I don't like the art as much with Manke as compared to Reis but it's still a great intergalactic cop book.
Brian Wood, writer of Northlanders and DMC is writing Conan over at Dark Horse now, the art looks great and I'm a big fan of his so I'm definitely going to try it out. Preview.
Marvel is putting out what they call "Season One" collections for their major characters. From what I've gathered they're basically origin stories. I'm all for this because comic book art now is leaps and bounds better than what it used to be and it can be hard to get into a comic story when the art is unappreciated by a noob like myself. Preview.
Batman: Gates of Gotham is the first run Scott Snyder did on batman although the Black Mirror (which is AMAZING) came into a hardcover first. I haven't read this one but I'm a big Batman fan and Snyder has yet to disappoint. Also steampunk in Batman, that's a buy.
Short reviews tomorrow.
